In the last five years the EUROCAE Working Group 100 “Remote & VirtualTower” developed the “Minimum Aviation System Performance Standard for Remote Tower Optical Systems” document (ED-240B). The EUROCAE Council has approved the new version on 31 July 2023. The new document is an important milestone in the standardization of Remote Tower technologies.
This document supersedes the earlier ED-240A Change 1 ‘Minimum Aviation System Performance Standard for Remote Tower Optical Systems’ (September 2021) and has been updated with respect to the optional integration of non-optical surveillance sensors and the addition of a recording and playback function.
