How can airports maintain aircraft movements even in low-visibility conditions? Is there a way to look out the tower window, cut through the fog, and identify which aircraft are which and where they are?
Join partners in the SESAR Digital Technologies for Towers project (PJ.05-W2) for online open day from the Vitoria-Gasteiz airport tower, where the augmented reality prototype will be demonstrated. The prototype was developed as part of SESAR candidate solution PJ.05-W2-97.1.
The solution aims to support air traffic controllers by means of virtual or augmented reality applications in ATC tower environment. The technology involves the use of tracking labels, air gestures and attention control. It takes into account the work already performed during SESAR Wave 1 as well as in advances in HMI interactiveness.
